Chasing longer climbs? This route heads into the Eifel and delivers just that. If you’re a fan of steady efforts like the Camerig or Vaalserberg, you’re going to love this ride.
Starting in Gulpen, you’ll roll into Belgium and head toward Eupen. After the town and its lake, the Grunklosterberg begins. It’s a 12.3 kilometer false flat that holds steady at 2.6% — perfect for finding a rhythm.
From the top, drop into the German Eifel and tackle the Hammer Mauer. After that, descend to the Rur Reservoir and soak up the scenery. The route follows the lake for a while before pulling you into the climb to Steckeborn. Look back for a final glimpse of the Rursee.
On the return, you’ll pick up the Vennbahn and enjoy a smooth roll back toward the Vaalserberg. The Epenerbaan is your final ramp before ending this unforgettable loop.
